Overview of the NLPCC 2026 Shared Task 11: Agent-Based Experiment Reproduction from Scientific Papers

The article introduces AgentActionBench, a benchmark designed to evaluate agent-based experiment reproduction across machine learning and AI4Science papers. It employs an MCP-based Action Recorder to capture agents’ behavior during reproduction and assesses the resulting traces against paper-specific rubrics. The benchmark includes 150 papers, with a human-annotated subset and model-assisted augmentation expanding it to over 10,000 rubric items, revealing that current systems face execution bottlenecks but that model-generated rubrics correlate strongly with human judgments.

ScientistTwo: Pioneering the Human Knowledge Frontier with Autonomous AI

The paper introduces ScientistTwo, a fully autonomous multi‑agent framework that takes a scientific problem, establishes baselines, generates hypotheses, and coordinates specialized agents to conduct an end‑to‑end discovery cycle without human intervention. It rigorously tests and refines its methods through automated experiments, ablation studies, and a closed‑loop peer‑review engine. Benchmarking against top conferences (ICLR, ICML, NeurIPS) shows that ScientistTwo produces expert‑level, publishable papers and codebases that outperform human state‑of‑the‑art models and receive higher review ratings under automated AI review.

Prompt-to-Paper: Agentic AI System for Bioinformatics

arXiv:2607. 05456v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: While recent advances in large language models have enabled end-to-end automated manuscript generation, existing systems suffer from three critical deficiencies: (i) generated claims are not deterministically grounded in verifiable literature, (ii) experimental results are frequently fabricated rather than executed, and (iii) there exists no standardized, multi-dimensional framework to assess whether AI-generated manuscripts meet the quality and rigor required for real-world publication.

IDRBench: Benchmarking the Interactive Capabilities of Deep Research Agents

IDRBench is a benchmark designed to evaluate the interactive capabilities of deep research agents that use large language models. It introduces controlled opportunities for clarification within a common workflow, comparing autonomous and interactive trajectories by measuring task‑specific report alignment and interaction cost. Experiments on 100 tasks with seven LLMs show that interaction consistently improves alignment, though its effectiveness varies depending on the agents’ questions and feedback integration.

Agent-Editing World Model: Rethinking World Modeling for LLM Agents

The paper introduces the Agent-Editing World Model (AEWM), a new approach that models how reasoning and actions influence future task progress instead of simulating tool responses. AEWM includes an Action Judge that classifies decisions as Critical, Exploratory, or Noisy, and a State Revision mechanism that edits noisy reasoning–action continuations from the same observed history. The integrated system, EditAct, directly updates the underlying state during real execution, leading to significant performance gains across multiple benchmarks and agent backbones.
