Graph-Dependent Pooling (GDPool) introduces a dynamic approach to hierarchical graph pooling, allowing each graph to determine its own pooling granularity rather than relying on fixed cluster numbers or ratios. The method employs self-attention to select graph-specific anchors and uses soft node assignment to build coarser graphs, addressing optimization conflicts identified through gradient alignment analysis. Experiments on metal‑organic framework and molecular graph datasets demonstrate that GDPool outperforms existing methods in predictive accuracy, modularity, and exhibits stable behavior across various hyperparameters.

The paper investigates how the order in which components are generated in GFlowNets affects learning and convergence. It shows that existing GFlowNet algorithms often fail to discover useful generation orders, and introduces a new training recipe—Learning-Order GFlowNet—that learns interpretable orders without explicit annotations. Experiments demonstrate that the new method improves convergence, and analysis of gradient signal-to-noise ratio suggests that higher SNR correlates with faster convergence and better generation orders.

Graph Neural Networks are widely used to learn structural representations of relational data. Hierarchical graph pooling learns multi-level representations by progressively coarsening graphs; however,...
The paper introduces Variational Bayesian Flow Network (VBFN), a graph generation model that lifts Bayesian updates to a joint Gaussian belief family with structured precisions, enabling coupled node and edge updates in a single fusion step. By constructing sample‑agnostic sparse precisions from a representation‑induced dependency graph, VBFN avoids label leakage while enforcing node‑edge consistency. Experiments on synthetic and molecular graph datasets show that VBFN improves fidelity and diversity over baseline methods.

The paper introduces a new learning objective called trajectory balance for Generative Flow Networks (GFlowNets), aiming to improve credit assignment across long action sequences. It demonstrates that minimizing this objective yields a policy that samples exactly from the target distribution. Experiments on four domains show that trajectory balance enhances convergence, sample diversity, and robustness to long sequences and large action spaces.

The paper introduces xVGAE, a hierarchical variational graph autoencoder designed for exchangeable graphs. Leveraging the Aldous-Hoover theorem, the model uses a graph-level latent variable, exchangeable node-specific latent variables, and a graphon function to learn and generate graph distributions efficiently. Experiments demonstrate that xVGAE produces high-quality graphs quickly while capturing key structural properties of the training data.
