OmicsBench: a long-horizon multi-turn benchmark of AI agents on research-study-scale bioinformatics

OmicsBench is a new long‑horizon, multi‑turn bioinformatics benchmark for AI agents, comprising 97 tasks that link 662 subtasks into directed acyclic graphs. Each subtask is a user turn scored deterministically, with optional in‑context feedback. Across 12 models, agents achieve mean scores between 0.43 and 0.67, revealing lower performance on dependent subtasks and highlighting qualitative failure modes through an unsupervised discovery pipeline.

AgentHop: A Diagnostic Benchmark for Agentic Multi-Hop Question Answering over Scientific Citation Graphs

AgentHop is a diagnostic benchmark comprising 1,011 multiple‑choice questions that test agentic multi‑hop question answering over scientific citation graphs. It provides a controlled seven‑tool sandbox with fixed token, turn, and tool‑call limits, allowing researchers to dissect model performance across four operational axes: retrieval, synthesis, tool‑call, and resource management. Analysis of 19 models shows distinct family‑specific behaviors, such as GPT models committing early, Anthropic and GLM checkpoints verifying before committing, DeepSeek and Kimi over‑searching, and Gemini‑3 Pro maintaining balance, while within‑family differences are revealed in retrieval versus synthesis strategies.

Bioinfoysis Technical Report

The Bioinfoysis Technical Report introduces a multi‑agent harness designed to improve long‑horizon bioinformatics tasks by maintaining persistent, artifact‑grounded analysis runs. It combines global planning with step‑wise, evidence‑driven replanning, ensuring intermediate results are tied to responsible agents and preventing stale evidence reuse. The system was evaluated on BixBench and LAB‑Bench 2, achieving state‑of‑the‑art accuracy and demonstrating that reliable bioinformatics automation relies on robust planning, execution, memory, and evidence flow.

OpenDiscoveryTrace: Process Traces for Evaluating AI Scientist Workflows

OpenDiscoveryTrace is a public dataset of 558 complete AI scientific agent trajectories that records the reasoning process—thoughts, tool calls, observations, errors, revision triggers, and confidence—across 124 scientific tasks in drug discovery, materials science, genomics, and literature analysis. The dataset includes seven models (three frontier models and four open‑weight models) and 60 live‑retrieval variants, providing a balanced view of performance and error patterns. Pilot analysis shows that process traces reveal behavioral differences invisible to output‑only evaluation, such as differing error rates and types among frontier models.

Prompt-to-Paper: Agentic AI System for Bioinformatics

arXiv:2607. 05456v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: While recent advances in large language models have enabled end-to-end automated manuscript generation, existing systems suffer from three critical deficiencies: (i) generated claims are not deterministically grounded in verifiable literature, (ii) experimental results are frequently fabricated rather than executed, and (iii) there exists no standardized, multi-dimensional framework to assess whether AI-generated manuscripts meet the quality and rigor required for real-world publication.
