ReflectRL: Learning from Golden Negative Trajectories via Reflective-to-Direct Reasoning

On-policy training has emerged as a powerful post-training paradigm for improving the reasoning capabilities of large language models, and is often enhanced by golden trajectories from stronger expert models. However, when the expert fails on harder problems, existing trajectory-guided methods lose their main source of supervision, and these failed trajectories are typically discarded as negative samples.

Reflective Recovery: A Self-Supervised Method for Reasoning by Learning from Mistakes

Reflective Recovery is a self‑supervised method that turns failed reasoning attempts into training data, enabling large language models to learn how to correct mistakes during inference. By extracting initial segments of erroneous trajectories and using them as prompts, the approach teaches models to recognize and recover from errors without external critics. Experiments show significant accuracy gains on benchmarks such as AIME 2025 and Minerva, and the method overcomes the scaling collapse problem, fostering emergent self‑correction behaviors.

Good Reasoning Makes Good Demonstrations: Implicit Reasoning Quality Supervision via In-Context Reinforcement Learning

arXiv:2603. 09803v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Reinforcement Learning with Verifiable Rewards (RLVR) improves reasoning in large language models but treats all correct solutions equally, potentially reinforcing flawed traces that arrive at correct answers by chance.

RASFT: Rollout-Adaptive Supervised Fine-Tuning for Reasoning

arXiv:2606. 07006v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Supervised fine-tuning (SFT) is a prevailing method for adapting large language models to reasoning tasks by imitating offline expert demonstrations, often treating a single expert trajectory as the target behavior.

Reason in the Words You Speak: Idiolectal Paraphrasing Off-Policy Traces for Reasoning Distillation in VideoLLMs

The paper introduces Echo-GRPO, a method that rewrites privileged reasoning traces into a model’s own idiolect to align off‑policy supervision with the student policy’s vocabulary. By preserving semantics through Dual‑Reference Decoding, Echo‑GRPO mitigates gradient clipping on critical reasoning tokens and improves reasoning distillation. The approach is instantiated as VideoEcho‑R1 for video reasoning, yielding consistent gains across multiple multimodal LLM backbones and benchmarks, and it can be applied as a plug‑in to both RL and supervised fine‑tuning frameworks.
