The paper introduces LIRSeg, a method that replaces explicit Chain-of-Thought reasoning in multimodal large language models with a compact set of learnable latent tokens for reasoning segmentation. LIRSeg is trained in two stages—spatial alignment and GRPO—while employing extreme-advantage sampling, decoupled exploration-stability updates, and latent diversity amplification to enhance token informativeness. Experiments show that LIRSeg improves segmentation accuracy and reasoning efficiency, achieving significant gIoU gains over the VisionReasoner baseline and reducing reasoning tokens by about 16×.

The paper introduces EvidenceConnect, a data‑synthesis framework that generates multimodal questions by zooming into related image regions to strengthen the capability of connecting evidence—identifying visual facts, linking them to entities, and composing them into answers. By training vision‑language models on this synthesized data with RLVR, the authors produce Zooming without Zooming v2 (ZwZ2), which improves fine‑grained and spatial perception, embodied spatial reasoning, multimodal long‑context understanding, and general visual reasoning. The results demonstrate that targeting the shared evidence‑connection capability yields more generalizable multimodal perception without tailoring data to specific benchmarks.
CoWorld Reasoner is an agentic framework that leverages a Video World Model (VWM) as a unified visual reasoning engine for Vision‑Language Models (VLMs). It exposes multiple visual operations through tools and skills, allowing the VLM to decide when to imagine, select an operation, generate visual content, and interpret the resulting evidence. The framework includes a VLM‑VWM Harness Co‑Evolution mechanism that jointly refines tools, skills, and execution code based on feedback, while keeping model weights fixed. Across seven benchmarks covering spatial, temporal, causal, and perceptual reasoning, CoWorld Reasoner outperforms direct VLM reasoning and improves accuracy on all benchmarks, achieving notable gains on MMSI and ERQA.
