Graph Homomorphism Distortion: A structural (pseudo)-metric for attributed graphs

The paper introduces a new (pseudo)-metric called graph homomorphism distortion, which quantifies how much node features must be distorted when mapping one attributed graph to another. This metric builds on metric geometry concepts and leverages graph homomorphisms to capture both structure and features. The authors show that the metric can be efficiently approximated, offers fine-grained graph distinction, and can serve as a structural encoding that enhances graph neural network predictions.

HeTGB: A Comprehensive Benchmark for Heterophilic Text-Attributed Graphs

HeTGB is a new benchmark for heterophilic text‑attributed graphs, consisting of five real‑world datasets where nodes have rich textual descriptions. It allows systematic evaluation of graph neural networks, pre‑trained language models, and co‑training methods on node classification. The benchmark highlights the utility of text attributes, the challenges of heterophilic TAGs, and the limitations of current models.

Topology-induced Operators Reveal Complementary Graph Representations without Training

The paper demonstrates that high‑quality graph embeddings can be produced without complex models or training by propagating random features through topological structures derived from random walks and anonymous walks. These training‑free embeddings capture node proximity and structural roles, respectively, and perform competitively on node, edge, and graph tasks while often requiring less computation. Combining the two embedding types further improves inference quality for some tasks.
