CRAFT: Fine-Tuning Pre-hoc Explainability in AI-native 6G RAN

The paper introduces CRAFT, a data‑centric fine‑tuning approach that aligns small language models (SLMs) for pre‑hoc reasoning in AI‑native 6G radio access networks (RAN). By automatically generating verified (input, trace, label) triplets and fine‑tuning with low‑rank adaptation, CRAFT achieves high accuracy and F1 scores on TRACTOR and IC xApp datasets while avoiding parse failures that plague RL methods like GRPO. It also reduces energy consumption by 59% compared to GRPO baselines, offering a more sustainable path to auditable AI in 6G RAN.

SpecQuant: Speculative Decoding with Multi-Parent Quantization for Adaptive LLM Inference

SpecQuant is a training‑free framework that merges speculative decoding with multi‑parent quantization to enable adaptive, efficient inference of large language models. It generates several quantized variants (INT4, FP8, FP16) from a single base model and routes queries to the appropriate variant based on predicted complexity, using lightweight models for simple tasks and full‑precision models for complex reasoning. Evaluations on Qwen2.5 models across MMLU, AlpacaEval, and GSM8K show 35‑43% speedups with less than 2% accuracy loss, facilitating practical on‑device LLM deployment without specialized infrastructure.

Testing LLM Arithmetic Reasoning Generalization with Automatic Numeric-Remapping Attacks

Large language models achieve strong performance on arithmetic reasoning benchmarks, and one common response to arithmetic brittleness is to delegate computation to code. Yet models are still often used in settings where they must reason directly from natural language, and trustworthy models should solve small-number arithmetic word problems without external tools.

The Importance of Being Statistically Earnest: A Critical Re-evaluation of GSM-Symbolic

The paper re‑examines the GSM‑Symbolic benchmark, arguing that its claim of widespread reasoning failures in 25 LLMs is based on weak statistics. Using bootstrapped Generalised Linear Mixed Models on 20 open‑weight models, only eight show significant performance changes, and a systematic shift toward larger integers in the dataset explains many of these effects. The authors also uncover model‑specific failure modes such as variable binding fragility, arithmetic limits, and dual‑task interference, cautioning against blanket conclusions about LLM reasoning.

Architecture-Aware Reinforcement Learning Makes Sliding-Window Attention Competitive in Math Reasoning

arXiv:2606. 11634v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: The rapid progress of reasoning and agentic large language models (LLMs) has increased the demand for long-context inference, but self-attention (SA) scales quadratically with context length.

Selective Left-Shift: Turning Test-Time Compute and Difficulty-based Curation into Training Data for Low-Resource Code Generation

arXiv:2607. 07748v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Large Language Models achieve strong code generation for high resource languages like Python and Java but suffer sharp performance drops on Low-Resource Programming Languages~(LRPLs) such as Julia.
