Learning to Think and Explore in 3D World

The paper introduces ACT3D, a vision‑language model that learns to think and explore in 3D environments using only single‑image inputs and action‑based interactions. By fine‑tuning with trajectory supervision and then applying reinforcement learning driven by final‑answer correctness, ACT3D develops an exploration policy that adapts to the question and improves accuracy across six benchmarks, outperforming both proprietary and open‑source baselines while using fewer input frames. The study shows that outcome‑based RL can teach VLMs to decide when and how to acquire visual evidence, leading to better reasoning and spatial understanding.

Think3D: Thinking with Space for Spatial Reasoning

Think3D introduces a framework that endows Vision‑Language Models with interactive 3D chain‑of‑thought reasoning by integrating 3D manipulation tools for active spatial exploration. The approach improves performance on benchmarks such as BLINK Multi‑view, MindCube‑1K, and VSI‑Bench‑Tiny for proprietary models like GPT‑4.1 and Gemini 2.5 Pro, and a reinforcement‑learning variant, Think3D‑RL, enables open‑weight models such as Qwen3‑VL‑4B to autonomously learn effective 3D exploration strategies, yielding tool‑use patterns comparable to stronger models and turning a performance drop on MindCube‑1K into a substantial improvement.

SearchWorld: Spatial Value-Grounded Imagination for UAV Object Search via World Models

SearchWorld introduces a recurrent state‑space world model that couples explicit spatial memory with value‑guided imagination for UAV object search. The model maintains bird’s‑eye‑view exploration and obstacle memory, decodes a task‑aware spatial value layer, and uses a cognition‑action network to improve policy through imagined rollouts without a separate critic. Experiments on UAV‑ON show a 23.8% success rate, surpassing the best published agent (19.5%) and achieving 35.5% oracle success while remaining robust on unseen scenes.

Q-Learning With World Models

The paper introduces QWM, a framework that integrates world models with standard Q‑learning to perform test‑time search over imagined trajectories. By training the policy and value function solely on real transitions, QWM avoids compounding model bias while still benefiting from predictive search. Experiments on the Robomimic and LIBERO manipulation benchmarks show that QWM outperforms strong prior state‑of‑the‑art methods in both sample efficiency and performance.

GuidedNav: Shaping Vision-Language Navigation Representations through Pre-action Attention and Spatial Guidance

GuidedNav is a new framework for vision‑and‑language navigation that explicitly shapes the representations linking instructions to actions. It uses subtask and landmark guidance to focus pre‑action attention on the relevant instruction segment and visual regions, and spatial guidance to align internal representations with geometric features of the environment. The method achieves state‑of‑the‑art success rates on R2R‑CE and RxR‑CE val‑unseen, improving by 8.1% and 13.1% respectively, while also providing faster inference and introducing two new annotation‑enriched datasets, Guided‑R2R and Guided‑RxR.
