Qwen-Audio-3.1-ASR Technical Report

The Qwen‑Audio‑3.1‑ASR family extends its predecessor with enhanced speech recognition and new speaker‑diarized transcription and general audio understanding features. It supports 30 languages and 16 Chinese dialects, offering instruction‑controlled capabilities such as historical‑context conditioning, hierarchical hotword customization, and native transcription polishing. The models deliver structured speaker‑diarized outputs, handle overlapping speech, and perform audio‑captioning, sound‑event detection, and audio question answering across multiple deployment variants.

Qwen-Audio-3.0-ASR Technical Report

The Qwen-Audio-3.0-ASR Technical Report introduces a Mixture-of-Experts large language model-based automatic speech recognition system that addresses real‑world production challenges such as regional dialects, dynamic entities, hotwords, long‑range context, and disfluent speech. Built on the Qwen backbone and trained on tens of millions of hours of speech data, it supports transcription in 30 languages and 16 Chinese dialects, and offers industry‑domain entity recognition, hierarchical hotword customization, single‑pass polishing, and long‑audio contextual modeling. A streaming variant, Qwen-Audio-3.0-ASR-Streaming, is also presented for low‑latency applications, with evaluations showing state‑of‑the‑art performance against leading commercial systems.

FireRedAudio: A General-Purpose Audio Language Model with Decoupled Continuous Representations for Understanding and Generation

FireRedAudio is a 9‑billion‑parameter audio language model that separates continuous input representations for audio understanding and speech generation, enabling a single autoregressive LLM to perform tasks such as ASR, zero‑shot TTS, Instruct TTS, and semantic/acoustic speech editing. The model uses a dedicated Audio Encoder for recognition and a RedAE‑based pathway for generation, with the LLM directly generating text or conditioning a flow‑matching DiT to produce acoustic latents. Evaluations show competitive or leading performance in multilingual ASR, content‑accurate zero‑shot TTS, strong instruction following, and significant improvements in speech editing over prior work.

Transsion's Speaker-Attributed Multilingual ASR System for the MLC-SLM 2026 Challenge

The paper describes Transsion Speech Team’s submission to Task 1 of the MLC‑SLM 2026 Challenge, aiming at speaker‑attributed transcription for multilingual conversational speech. Their cascaded framework includes a DiariZen‑based speaker diarization module, a Qwen3‑Omni‑based long‑form multilingual ASR module with CTC alignment for precise timestamps, and a fusion module that merges diarization and transcription outputs into speaker‑attributed STM results. On the official evaluation set, the system achieved a tcpMER of 15.41% and secured second place among all participants.

Dual-Form ASR: Semantics-Aware Inverse Text Normalization for Chinese Speech Recognition

Dual-Form ASR (DF-ASR) is a framework that unifies spoken-form ASR and semantics-aware written-form inverse text normalization (ITN) for Chinese speech recognition. It uses paired spoken- and written-form supervision generated and judged by a large language model, and introduces an ITN-MWER objective to penalize errors on normalization-sensitive spans. DF-ASR also employs a REQUIRE-ITN/FORBID-ITN protocol to separately evaluate required normalization and forbidden-span preservation, achieving superior performance over open-source ASR-ITN systems while maintaining prompt-level control between transcript forms.

Inference-Time Target Speaker Unlearning in LLM-Based Automatic Speech Recognition

The paper introduces a new target‑speaker unlearning task for automatic speech recognition (TSU‑ASR) that allows certain speakers to opt out of transcription while still indicating their presence. A lightweight Enrollment‑Conditioned Gating (ECG) module is added to a frozen dual‑stream speech LLM, enabling dynamic unlearning of new opt‑out speakers during inference. Experiments on AMI and AliMeeting datasets show significant drops in transcription accuracy for opt‑out speakers while preserving performance for retained speakers.

Enabling automatic transcription of child-centered audio recordings from real-world environments

The paper presents a method to automatically identify utterances in child-centered daylong audio recordings that can be reliably transcribed by modern ASR systems, enabling accurate transcription of a substantial portion of the speech. On four English corpora, the approach achieves a median WER of 0% and a mean WER of 16% when transcribing 30% of the total speech, compared to a median WER of 52% when transcribing all speech. Word frequency distributions from the automatic transcripts correlate strongly with manual annotations (r = 0.94 overall, r = 0.99 for frequent words).

SEA-SpeechBench: A Large-Scale Multitask Benchmark for Speech Understanding Across Southeast Asia

SEA-SpeechBench is a large‑scale multitask benchmark for speech understanding in 11 Southeast Asian languages, comprising 97,194 samples across 99 evaluation sets and 597 hours of curated audio. It covers nine tasks in three categories—speech processing, paralinguistic analysis, and a novel temporal understanding dimension—using multilingual prompting in both native SEA languages and English. Evaluation of current models shows significant performance gaps, especially in temporal understanding, emotion recognition, and speech translation, with low‑resource languages lagging behind English by up to 41 percentage points.
