arXiv:2606. 24780v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Progress in deep learning is, at scale, more a matter of systems engineering than of modelling: the behaviour of a model in training (its throughput, its memory footprint, and the numerical fidelity of the result) is determined less by the architecture itself than by how that architecture is expressed on the hardware.

arXiv:2608. 15383v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Sparse mixture-of-experts (MoE) language models reduce arithmetic by activating only a small subset of experts per token, yet deployment still requires storing and moving the full expert bank.

The paper introduces the Tri‑Metric Router, a deterministic, training‑free policy that chooses among Raw, Neural, and Lexical pipelines for retrieval‑augmented generation on commodity GPUs. It uses three CPU‑side signals—spatial complexity, syntactic density, and type‑token ratio—to balance VRAM headroom and latency, calibrated on LongBench qasper. The method eliminates out‑of‑memory failures and improves alignment and F1 scores compared to always‑on lexical compression without extra VRAM or training costs.

The paper investigates using short polynomial approximations to accelerate special‑function operations in large language models on NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs. By replacing native sigmoid, tanh, and SiLU with degree‑3 or degree‑4 bfloat16 programs, the authors achieve up to 2.19× speed‑ups in isolated FP16 benchmarks and modest training‑step throughput gains (2.7–8.0%) across four integration tasks. The study also evaluates model behavior, finding negligible training‑loss differences within 100 billion tokens.

AMDKernelVault is an open HIP and Triton kernel corpus and training framework designed for AMD CDNA GPUs. It includes 62,153 verified HIP kernels, 39,893 Triton kernels, and 2,377 ROCm library QA entries, and introduces agent-driven pipelines (HIPKernelGen and TritonKernelGen) that convert PyTorch references into GPU kernels, compile, validate, and profile them on AMD hardware. The corpus was used to fine‑tune Qwen3-8B, achieving the highest correctness on several benchmarks such as PyTorch-to-HIP, TritonBench‑G, and ROCmBench under fixed evaluation budgets.
