arXiv:2606. 08090v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Evaluating a natural-language yes/no predicate over a document corpus under an accuracy target - the semantic filter - is a cornerstone of LLM-based data processing.

arXiv:2607. 04281v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Semantic caching reduces the latency and cost of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) by serving cached answers to semantically similar queries, but most existing methods do not model the time-varying freshness of open-web evidence.

arXiv:2604. 26180v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: With recent semantic query processing engines, semantic aggregation has become a primitive operator, enabling the reduction of a relation into a natural language aggregate using an LLM.

The paper investigates run‑to‑run variance in semantic query engines that use large language models (LLMs) to evaluate rows. By re‑executing benchmarks (SemBench, LRO‑Bench, UDA‑Bench) and logging 1.2 million model calls, the authors find that between 0.07% and 10.2% of rows change output at temperature 0, with some tasks showing up to 24% change. They show that plan amplification can cause a large fraction of answers to differ, that many benchmark comparisons are unresolved, and that voting and calibrated cascades reduce but do not eliminate variance, leading to new reporting and design guidelines.
