Schr\"odinger-Bass Bridge Barycenter Models for Measure-Valued Data

Read the original on arXiv Machine Learning →

The paper introduces Schr"odinger-Bass Bridge (SBB) barycenter models—SBB-encoder, SBB-decoder, SBB-symmetric, and SBB-Markovian—for measure-valued data, leveraging directional asymmetry and dual drift-diffusion control. It proves existence of SBB-barycenters under mild assumptions, shows that for Gaussian inputs the decoder admits a Gaussian minimizer simplifying computation, and develops a hybrid Wasserstein gradient particle descent for general measures. Experiments on spatial images and single-cell RNA sequencing demonstrate that the SBB-decoder and Markovian barycenter outperform existing models in distributional interpolation and inference.

Twisted Schr\"odinger Bridge Matching

arXiv:2607. 16987v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Over the past few years, diffusion-based Schr\"odinger bridge models have been proposed to approximate optimal transport dynamics between two prescribed boundary distributions, with successful applications to generative modeling.

Barycentric Weak Inner-Product Gromov-Wasserstein

The paper introduces a weak Gromov-Wasserstein (wGW) framework that compares source relations with relations between target conditional laws, focusing on inner-product relations and preserving conditional means. It defines the barycentric weak inner-product GW (wIGW) distance, proves existence of minimizers under finite second moments, and presents a ridge-regularized dual formulation leading to an iterative algorithm for finitely supported measures. Experiments on point clouds, graphs, and a PBMC multiome study demonstrate that mean-preserving target refinements can incur zero cost and improve atlas-based cell type transfer.
