PRISM: Prompt-Refined In-Context System Modelling for Financial Retrieval

Read the original on arXiv Computation and Language →

PRISM is a training‑free framework for financial information retrieval that combines prompt engineering, in‑context learning, and a candidate refinement module, with optional multi‑agent coordination. On FiQA‑2018 it improves Recall@100 from 0.7783 to 0.8326, and on FinAgentBench it achieves a Cohere‑refined top‑50 pool that raises NDCG@5 while cutting per‑query cost by about 35%. The authors also release an expert‑annotated evaluation set, a label‑robustness sweep, and a Pareto frontier of quality‑cost‑latency trade‑offs, and PRISM ranks third on the private FinAgentBench leaderboard without fine‑tuning.

Enrich-Retrieve-Rank: Scaling Capability Discovery Beyond In-Context Routing

The paper introduces Enrich‑Retrieve‑Rank, a scalable method for discovering capabilities in large agent ecosystems. It replaces in‑context routing with an offline enrichment step that converts sparse metadata into searchable profiles, followed by an online retrieve‑then‑rank pipeline that returns a ranked shortlist without invoking candidates. Experiments show that as the number of capabilities grows from 10 to 7,278, the new approach maintains higher top‑1 accuracy and reduces cost by 70× compared to full‑context baselines.

BudgetSchemaBench: A Budget-Swept Diagnostic for Schema Context in Text-to-SQL

BudgetSchemaBench is a diagnostic tool for evaluating how different schema‑context budgets affect text‑to‑SQL systems. It automatically derives relevance labels from gold SQL, tests four budgets across 80 databases, and compares three schema representations while keeping table rankings fixed. The study shows that increasing the budget improves execution accuracy, especially for lexical retrieval, and that dense retrieval already captures most needed tables at low budgets.

Diagnosing and Mitigating Retrieval Bottlenecks in LLM-Based Cold-Start Recommendation

arXiv:2606. 29947v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Large language models (LLMs) are increasingly used as rerankers in recommender systems, with the expectation that semantic understanding will help in cold-start and long-tail regimes.
