Toward Physically Grounded JEPA World Models for Goal-Conditioned Robotic Planning

The paper presents an end‑to‑end JEPA world model that enhances latent prediction with inverse dynamics and state alignment to better support goal‑conditioned robotic planning. By incorporating inverse dynamics, the model prevents latent collapse and encodes action information, while state alignment ties consecutive latent states to their physical configurations and motions. Experiments on four benchmark tasks show the model achieves top success rates on TwoRoom, PushT, and OGBench‑Cube, and its state alignment consistently improves planning performance over inverse dynamics alone.

Toward Physically Grounded JEPA World Models for Goal-Conditioned Robotic Planning

The paper presents an end‑to‑end JEPA world model that enhances latent prediction with inverse dynamics and state alignment to improve goal‑conditioned robotic planning. By preventing latent collapse and grounding representations in physical configuration, the model achieves top success rates on tasks such as TwoRoom, PushT, and OGBench‑Cube, outperforming the baseline LeWorldModel. Ablation studies confirm that state alignment consistently boosts planning success over inverse dynamics alone across all four benchmark tasks.

Beyond Action Prediction: Learning Search-Free Planning in Latent Space

The paper introduces Hindsight Inverse JEPA Planning (HIJP), a search‑free framework that replaces costly online action sequence optimization with a goal‑conditioned inverse model. HIJP trains by relabeling future observations as goals, providing action supervision across multiple horizons and shaping visual representations. The method also aligns predicted actions with a latent predictor model to enforce action‑transition consistency, achieving high success rates and significant speedups on visual control tasks.

Learning Intrinsic Dynamics in Latent World Models

The paper investigates how encouraging action predictability in latent world models can preserve intrinsic dynamics, which are crucial for planning. By deriving a theoretical lower bound and conducting empirical tests, the authors show that action predictability prevents the encoder from merging distinct action outcomes, even when visual appearance varies. Using a method called Concat IDM, they achieve a substantial increase in planning success on the Push‑T benchmark, from 9.1% to 77.2%, demonstrating the practical benefit of this inductive bias.

JEPA-TTT: Persistent Test-Time Training of Latent World Models for Planning under Dynamics Shifts

JEPA‑TTT is a method that continuously adapts the latent dynamics predictor of a pretrained Joint‑Embedding Predictive Architecture (JEPA) world model during test time. It performs self‑supervised updates across episodes while keeping the visual encoder and reward head fixed, using dense replay to sample prediction windows from a growing buffer. In experiments on eight dynamics shifts across four continuous‑control environments, JEPA‑TTT reduces latent prediction error by 83% and improves planning performance by 153% compared to the frozen model.

LeWAM: End-to-End World and Action Modeling with JEPAs

LeWAM is an end‑to‑end joint‑embedding predictive architecture that learns compact latent world models without pixel reconstruction and directly supports policy execution and planning. It trains jointly on next‑latent‑state prediction and action‑flow matching while imposing an isotropic Gaussian constraint on the latent state. The approach yields significant performance gains, raising visual‑planning success rates from 28.6 % to 89.7 % on contact‑rich tasks, from 10.9 % to 46.2 % on long‑horizon tasks, and speeding up planning by 32.3×, while remaining competitive on behavior‑cloning tasks and providing interpretable control‑relevant representations.

AD-WM: Action-Discriminative World Models for Counterfactual Model Predictive Control

AD-WM is a new action‑discriminative joint‑embedding world model designed for counterfactual model predictive control. It augments residual latent dynamics with action‑recovery regularization based on inverse dynamics and conditional mutual information, while discarding auxiliary heads at test time so that MPC remains unchanged. Experiments on OGBench‑Cube and other simulation environments show substantial gains in hard‑start success and mean success, and zero‑shot transfer to a Franka robot improves pick‑and‑place success from 42.2% to 71.1%.
