SpectralDiT: Timestep-Conditioned Spectral Residual Correction for Flow-Matching DiTs

We propose SpectralDiT, a lightweight modification to flow-matching Diffusion Transformers that adds timestep-conditioned spectral correction to the MLP residual branch. The module decomposes each residual update into low- and high-frequency components on the patch-token grid, then learns a zero-initialized additive gate so the model initially matches the baseline DiT.

Energy-Guided Flow Matching

Pixel-space generative models bypass lossy latent compression, yet necessitate joint learning of global structure and fine-grained details in a high-dimensional space. Standard flow matching interpolates noise toward a fixed clean-image endpoint, leaving the spectral evolution to be learned implicitly.

Low-Pass Flow Matching

arXiv:2606. 02177v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Flow Matching typically relies on white noise sources, a choice often misaligned with the power spectra of natural data, which tend to decay with frequency.

Rethinking Cross-Layer Information Routing in Diffusion Transformers

arXiv:2605. 20708v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Diffusion Transformers (DiTs) have become a de facto backbone of modern visual generation, and nearly every major axis of their design -- tokenization, attention, conditioning, objectives, and latent autoencoders -- has been extensively revisited.

Balancing Frequencies and Pixels in Flow Matching

The paper introduces a Focal Log-Frequency Loss (f-loss) to counteract the spectral imbalance in pixel-space flow matching, where low frequencies dominate training. By balancing learning signals across frequencies and combining early frequency-domain supervision with later pixel-space refinement, the method accelerates convergence by up to 40% and improves FID and perceptual fidelity across multiple model scales. It requires no architectural changes and can replace existing flow matching losses as a drop‑in solution.

Energy-Conditioned Noise Schedule and Whitening for Spectral Diffusion

The paper proposes an energy‑adaptive noise scheduling and whitening strategy for transform‑domain diffusion models. By aligning the forward diffusion process with the spectral energy distribution of natural images, the method jointly modulates injected noise based on individual transform coefficient energy and an image‑dependent energy path over diffusion time. Experiments on CIFAR‑10 show that this approach reduces the Fréchet Inception Distance from 142.48 to 100.45 for a compact DCT‑diff U‑Net variant.
