The paper introduces FOVEATED, a plug‑and‑play framework that improves atomic‑fact recall in unstructured knowledge editing (UKE) for large language models. By randomly shifting Rotary Position Embedding (RoPE) positions during editing, FOVEATED creates focused views of each sentence, counteracting the context‑reliance problem where edited LLMs reproduce passages but fail to recall individual facts. Experiments show consistent gains across five editors, two LLM backbones, and three benchmarks.

ConvergeWriter introduces a bottom‑up, data‑driven framework for long‑form document generation that first retrieves exhaustive knowledge from a source corpus and clusters it into distinct knowledge groups. These clusters then guide the creation of a hierarchical outline and the final text, ensuring the output is strictly grounded in the retrieved material and traceable to its sources. Experiments on 14B and 32B LLMs show that this approach matches or surpasses state‑of‑the‑art baselines, especially in scenarios requiring high factual fidelity and structural coherence.

arXiv:2601. 22146v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Due to limited supervised training data, large language models (LLMs) are typically pre-trained via a self-supervised "predict the next word" objective on a vast amount of unstructured text data.

The paper introduces Highlight-Then-Summarize (H2S), a two-step approach that first highlights question-relevant evidence in long documents and then condenses it into a compact, question-conditioned summary before generating an answer. The authors built the H2S-Dataset with 6,647 examples spanning 11 benchmark families, and developed H2S-RL to reward evidence selection and summary construction. Evaluated on the H2S-Bench suite, the H2S-14B model outperforms larger open-source models, achieving the highest overall score and maintaining strong performance even with a reduced output budget.

arXiv:2607. 06160v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Synthesizing long-context supervised fine-tuning (SFT) data is a scalable way to enhance the long-context understanding of large language models (LLMs), yet existing approaches share three limitations: narrow task coverage, insufficient instruction difficulty, and a lack of faithfulness supervision.

The paper investigates Retrieval-Augmented Generation fine‑tuning (RAG‑SFT) for generating requirements documents in electronics engineering, comparing two 7B models trained with different data strategies. It introduces a claim‑based evaluation pipeline, C‑FEX, and a new metric, Parametric Knowledge Precision (PKP), to assess factuality of model‑generated claims. Results show that fine‑tuned 7B models can match or surpass a 72B baseline, but standard metrics may mislead, and fine‑tuning reduces hallucination by encouraging more reliable use of parametric knowledge.

OARelatedWork is a large‑scale dataset for generating entire related‑work sections from open‑access papers, comprising 94,450 papers across multiple domains. It includes full texts of cited works and is designed so every source paper is available in full, enabling controlled evaluation of full‑text related‑work generation. The paper benchmarks various models, shows that large language models struggle with massive full‑text contexts, and introduces a statement‑level evaluation framework to better assess long‑form structured outputs.

arXiv:2608. 25826v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: A recent line of synthetic-data work reconstructs the thinking behind existing text rather than rewriting the text itself, but it operates on short web passages, recovers only local thoughts, and leaves the structure of whole documents untouched.

QVAC Genesis III is a 191.43 B‑token synthetic STEM corpus covering 19 domains and multiple difficulty levels, created through a dual generation strategy that uses a weak edge‑scale student model to generate corrective explanations and contrastive reasoning. The authors evaluate the corpus with an LLM‑as‑a‑parser protocol and demonstrate that 1.7 B‑parameter models trained on QVAC Genesis III outperform those trained on Cosmopedia‑v2 and the Cosmo‑1B model on ARC, GPQA Diamond, and MMLU STEM benchmarks, achieving up to +28.57% improvement on ARC‑E and a 99.45% valid answer rate.
