Rewind-IL: Online Failure Detection and State Respawning for Imitation Learning

Rewind-IL is a training‑free online safeguard for generative action‑chunked imitation learning policies. It uses a zero‑shot failure detector based on Temporal Inter‑chunk Discrepancy Estimate (TIDE) and a state‑respawning mechanism that returns the robot to a verified safe intermediate state. The system builds a checkpoint library offline with a vision‑language model and monitors self‑consistency online, rewinding execution to the latest safe checkpoint when a failure is detected, thereby improving reliability in long‑horizon manipulation tasks.

SynIL: Leveraging Synergy for Offline Imitation Learning from Imperfect Demonstration Datasets

SynIL is a new framework for offline imitation learning that automatically assesses the quality of demonstration data without requiring labels. It uses motor synergy—a low‑dimensional coordinated movement pattern linked to proficiency—to generate dense, transition‑level reward signals through self‑supervised reward regression. Experiments on D4RL locomotion and Robomimic manipulation datasets show that synergy‑derived rewards align well with true rewards and that SynIL outperforms Behavior Cloning and rivals or surpasses offline reinforcement learning in sparse‑reward scenarios.

DexPIE: Stable Dexterous Policy Improvement from Real-World Experience

DexPIE is a post‑training framework that improves dexterous manipulation policies using real‑world experience. It introduces a dexterous‑hand‑adapted intervention system and multi‑stage DAgger‑style data collection to enhance exploration, aligns training and inference to reduce distribution shift, and conditions the policy on a continuous optimality indicator for fine‑grained data quality use. In three real‑world tasks, DexPIE boosts success rates by 37.3% over a demonstration‑based baseline, outperforming all other methods and showing stronger robustness.

OGPO: Offline Goal-conditioned Policy Optimization for Recoverable Vision-Language-Action Models

OGPO is an Offline Goal‑conditioned Policy Optimization framework designed to improve Vision‑Language‑Action (VLA) models for robotic manipulation. It replaces traditional step‑wise action imitation with adaptive relabeling of trajectories using semantic key states and goal‑conditioned rewards, enabling policies to reach task‑progress states even from off‑demonstration states. Experiments on LIBERO, MetaWorld, LIBERO‑Plus, and the proposed LIBERO‑ReAct benchmark show that OGPO consistently outperforms standard supervised fine‑tuning in terms of robustness and recoverability under distribution shifts.
