Multimodal Conditioning of Fine-Tuned Stable Diffusion XL for Controllable and Culturally Faithful Ulos Motif Generation

The paper introduces a multimodal generative framework that fine‑tunes Stable Diffusion XL with LoRA and couples it to a LLaMA 1.5‑7B language model to produce culturally faithful Batak Ulos motifs. Four conditioning mechanisms—text, image, representation, and semantic map—are jointly used to steer the generation, and an ablation study shows that combining all four actually degrades performance compared to selective combinations. A web prototype and user studies with weavers and the public demonstrate the system’s practical value for preserving and innovating Ulos design.

HCSU: A Dataset and Benchmark for Fine-Grained Historical Calligraphy Style Understanding

arXiv:2607. 04147v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Automated fine-grained perception of calligraphy styles--a task vital to cultural heritage preservation--remains a critical challenge for Large Vision-Language Models (LVLMs), largely constrained by existing datasets that suffer from modal mixture and flattened labels.

HALDETECT at ImageEval 2026 Shared Tasks: Answer-First Contrastive Grounding with QLoRA

HALDETECT is a system developed for the English hallucination-detection track of ImageEval 2026, where the task is to identify the single visually grounded statement among three culturally plausible options. The approach treats the problem as a contrastive decision, outputs the answer before an explanation, and bases reasoning on colour/texture, shape/form, and context. The best model fine‑tunes Qwen2.5‑VL‑7B‑Instruct with 4‑bit QLoRA, freezes the vision encoder, and achieves a Contrastive Instability score of 0.035 on the test set, placing third among eight teams.

Appearance Pointers -- Multimodal Region Control of Diffusion Transformers

arXiv:2607. 19344v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Controllable image generation remains challenging for creative professionals, who often require precise regional control over materials, object identities, and spatial arrangements that cannot be reliably achieved through text prompting alone.

SenseNova-U1.5: Towards Native Unified Visual Intelligence

SenseNova-U1.5 is an 8B‑MoT native unified multimodal model that can understand, reason about, and generate visual content without using an encoder or VAE. It improves visual fidelity and text rendering through spatially coherent patch reconstruction, large‑scale training on curated generation and editing data, and native resolutions up to 4K. Post‑training, specialized experts for visual aesthetics, bilingual text rendering, infographic generation, and image editing are optimized and distilled into a multi‑expert framework, yielding advances in image fidelity, complex composition, multi‑reference editing, and instruction following.

HAM-RAG: Hierarchy-Aware Multimodal RAG for Structure-Faithful Interleaved Generation

arXiv:2608. 14032v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Existing multimodal RAG methods often flatten structured documents into isolated text and image units, weakening the source organization and local text-image logic needed for faithful evidence selection and placement.

CompArt: Operationalizing Aesthetic Alignment in Text-to-Image Generation via Principles of Art

CompArt introduces a new approach to aesthetic alignment in text-to-image generation by using the Principles of Art (PoA) such as Balance, Rhythm, and Emphasis to define explicit compositional constraints. The authors create a large dataset of 80,032 WikiArt images, each annotated with PoA analyses generated by a multimodal LLM, and present ArtDapter, a lightweight adapter that steers a pretrained diffusion model along ten PoA dimensions while preserving semantic fidelity. Experiments demonstrate that CompArt outperforms strong baselines in adhering to PoA controls under a dual evaluation protocol.

Moonworks Lunara: Modeling Artistic Intelligence

Moonworks Lunara is a text‑to‑image model that defines Artistic Intelligence as exploration‑driven world realization, preserving semantic, artistic, and compositional structure. It uses a Diffusion Mixture Transformer architecture and a training algorithm that iteratively refines the data distribution with informative samples and human‑created art. Benchmarks show Lunara ranks first in aesthetic quality and second in emotional resonance against seven other image‑generation models, while maintaining a sub‑10B parameter size and sub‑10‑second inference latency.
