arXiv:2607. 22622v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Recent Text-to-SQL methods rely heavily on reasoning-centric paradigms such as Chain-of-Thought (CoT), achieving substantial gains on complex benchmarks at the cost of high inference-time overhead.

Large language model-based recommender systems are increasingly adopting slow-thinking models that generate step-by-step reasoning before making predictions, often achieving higher accuracy than fast-thinking models that predict directly. However, their reasoning traces are often unnecessarily verbose, increasing inference costs without commensurate accuracy gains.

The paper introduces Table Graph Reasoner (TabGR), a model that represents tables as an Attributed Table Graph (ATG) to preserve row-column-cell structure and enable graph-based reasoning without task-specific training. It also proposes a Question-Guided Personalized PageRank (QG-PPR) mechanism to rerank tabular data and address the lost-in-the-middle issue. Experiments on multiple table reasoning benchmarks show that TabGR outperforms state-of-the-art models by up to 9.7% in accuracy.

The paper investigates modular entity disambiguation by separating candidate retrieval from entity selection. It compares sparse retrieval (BM25), Web KB search, and a dense retriever, all paired with large language model selectors. Results show that a training‑free BM25 retriever combined with an LLM selector achieves state‑of‑the‑art performance on the ZELDA benchmark, and the modular approach enables abstention when retrieval fails.
