Clearing the Underbrush: AI-Enhanced RF Interference Suppression

The paper presents an AI‑enhanced method for radio frequency interference suppression that builds on autoregressive transformer models by adding a Finite Scalar Quantization tokenizer layer. This addition improves interference rejection while maintaining low latency, and the authors also test other inference optimizations to speed up processing with minimal accuracy loss. Experiments using a digitally modulated RF signal as the signal of interest and a digital television OFDM signal as interference show that the approach outperforms traditional techniques and prior AI methods, with benefits demonstrated through audio quality metrics like PESQ and potential operational applications.

EqDeepRx: Learning a Scalable and Interference Mitigating MIMO Receiver

arXiv:2602. 11834v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: While machine learning (ML)-based receiver algorithms have received a great deal of attention in the recent literature, they often suffer from poor scaling with increasing spatial multiplexing order and lack of explainability and generalization.

XL MIMO Extreme Learning Machines: Wave-Domain Inference with Stacked Metasurfaces

The paper proposes an XL‑MIMO system with stacked intelligent metasurfaces (SIM) that functions as a two‑layer neural network operating entirely over the air. The first layer is the uncontrollable wireless fading, while the second controllable layer is implemented via SIM operations, requiring only the front‑end metasurface to provide a nonlinear activation. Using the Extreme Learning Machine framework, the authors derive a closed‑form optimal linear SIM combining, enabling fast training and demonstrating classification accuracy comparable to digital models across various datasets.

Deep Learning-Based Tri-Hybrid Multi-User MIMO Precoding: The Blessing of EM-Reconfigurable Antennas

The paper introduces Tri-PNet, a deep learning framework that jointly designs electromagnetic (EM), analog, and digital precoding for tri-hybrid multi-user MIMO OFDM systems. By leveraging Conformer architecture, Tri-PNet learns to select radiation patterns and perform hybrid precoding, achieving higher spectral efficiency than random EM precoding and conventional hybrid MIMO while maintaining low online complexity. The study evaluates two radiation-pattern modes—non-regular and 3GPP TR 38.901—showing robust performance even with imperfect channel state information.

Learned Digital Over-the-Air Computing for Federated Edge Learning

arXiv:2509. 16577v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Over-the-air (OTA) aggregation enables federated edge learning (FEEL) by exploiting the superposition property of the wireless channel to merge communication with computation, eliminating the need to schedule and decode devices individually.

In-Context Learning for MIMO Turbo Receivers

The paper introduces EXT-ICLNet, a Transformer-based detector for MIMO turbo receivers that uses pilots as in-context examples to learn the symbol extrinsic posterior distribution without explicit channel estimation. By implementing a log-domain prior skip connection, the network integrates seamlessly with existing turbo receivers, learning only extrinsic information. Numerical experiments on a 4×4 MIMO system with 16‑QAM and a quantized front end show that EXT-ICLNet outperforms baselines relying on explicit CSI estimation at low‑to‑medium SNRs and EP baselines with perfect CSI at high SNRs, as confirmed by EXIT chart comparisons.
