Closing the Null Space: Guidance-Aware Quantization for Classifier-Free Diffusion

arXiv:2607. 08241v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Deploying classifier-free guidance (CFG) diffusion models under real-world compute budgets requires quantization, yet existing post-training quantization (PTQ) methods treat CFG models as single-branch networks, ignoring the paired conditional/unconditional structure that CFG inference fundamentally relies on.

dMX: Differentiable Mixed-Precision Assignment for Low-Precision Floating-Point Formats

arXiv:2606. 04115v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Quantizing large language models (LLMs) to low-precision floating-point representations is central to efficient deployment, yet applying a single bit-width uniformly across all layers is sub-optimal in terms of both performance and accuracy.

RAMP: Robust Adaptive Mixed-Precision Quantization for Edge CPU Vision Models

The paper introduces RAMP, a method for robust adaptive mixed‑precision quantization of vision models on edge CPUs. It evaluates 13 sensitivity metrics across four neural networks, finding that Jensen‑Shannon Divergence consistently identifies layers that can be safely quantized. Using K‑Means clustering on these metrics, RAMP achieves near‑lossless accuracy with an average 1.81× speed‑up, while cautioning against excluding low‑speed‑up layers that can fragment the computational graph.

A Target-Centric Survey of Quantization-Aware Training

The paper presents a target‑centric survey of Quantization‑Aware Training (QAT), a technique that simulates quantization during model training to produce low‑bit models with accuracy comparable to full‑precision ones. It systematically reviews existing QAT methods using a target‑centric taxonomy, highlighting differences in error characteristics, numerical formats, and strategy transferability across targets. The survey also summarizes QAT evaluation paradigms, discusses optimization and deployment challenges, and outlines potential future research directions.
