Seismic Acoustic Impedance Inversion Framework Based on Conditional Latent Generative Diffusion Model

The paper presents a seismic acoustic impedance inversion framework that uses a conditional latent generative diffusion model. By performing inversion in latent space and incorporating a lightweight wavelet-based module, the method reduces training overhead and improves efficiency. Numerical and field experiments show high accuracy, strong generalization, and enhanced geological detail with fewer diffusion steps.

Latent Variable-Mediated Cross-Learning for Few-Shot Acoustic Impedance Imaging

Acoustic impedance imaging is a fundamental yet severely ill-posed problem in subsurface analysis: the seismic wavelet is unknown, observations are band-limited, and labeled well-log samples are extremely scarce (typically <1% of all traces). Existing semi-supervised deep learning methods mitigate few-shot problem by incorporating forward modeling, yet they either rely on inaccurate prior wavelet assumptions or introduce auxiliary networks, leading to unstable optimization and degraded performance.

Physical-State-Guided Diffusion Sampling for Full-Waveform Inversion

Physical-State-Guided Diffusion Sampling (PSG) couples a persistent physical velocity model to a diffusion prior via a Gaussian bridge, allowing the physical state to be refined by waveform fitting while guiding the reverse diffusion process. This approach separates wave‑equation and denoiser gradients, preserving conventional FWI initialization and optimization history. PSG outperforms classical and diffusion‑based baselines on four OpenFWI families, maintains strong structural recovery under noise, and supports large‑scale models like Marmousi, Overthrust, and BP2004 Salt without retraining.

Parameter-Efficient Adaptation of Pre-Trained Vision Foundation Models for Active and Passive Seismic Data Denoising

The paper presents a framework that adapts general-purpose Vision Foundation Models (VFMs) to seismic data denoising using Parameter‑Efficient Fine‑Tuning with Low‑Rank Adaptation (LoRA). It introduces a kurtosis‑guided unsupervised test‑time adaptation module that updates only LoRA parameters to self‑calibrate for site‑specific noise without ground truth. Experiments on exploration seismic images and DAS data demonstrate that the approach matches or surpasses domain‑specific models and generalizes well to unseen cross‑site data.

Generative wave propagator

arXiv:2607. 04440v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Seismic wavefield simulation is fundamental to seismology, but conventional finite-difference (FD) methods remain limited by numerical dispersion and stability constraints, which often require dense spatial grids and small time steps and thereby severely limit the effectiveness of iterative inversion workflows.

Generating Heterogeneous 3D Geological Microstructures from 2D Images via a Stable Diffusion-Adversarial Model

The paper presents a hybrid generative model that combines denoising diffusion and adversarial training to produce 3D geological microstructures from 2D images. It addresses limitations of previous GAN-based methods like SliceGAN, particularly for heterogeneous materials, by replacing the denoising loss with an adversarial loss to achieve stable training. The resulting model generates microstructures with minimal slice artefacts and accurate phase fractions and structural descriptors.

Inverse Problems Conditioned on Observation Ensembles: Applications and Methods

The paper introduces the Ensemble-conditioned Inverse Problem (EIP), a multivariate statistical framework for inferring an ensemble that follows the pushforward of a prior through a forward process. It applies to fields such as high‑energy physics, full waveform inversion, and inverse imaging, and proposes non‑iterative inference‑time methods using ensemble inverse generative models that avoid explicit forward model use during inference. The authors demonstrate the approach on synthetic and real datasets and provide code for replication.
