EAServe introduces an encode-aware disaggregated serving framework for multimodal large language models (MLLMs), restructuring the traditional Prefill-Decode pipeline into a three-stage Encode-Prefill-Decode (EPD) system. By treating Encode as the control point, EAServe coordinates load‑adaptive micro‑batching, rate‑controlled offloading to prefill workers, and dynamic SM partitioning to balance GPU utilization across stages. Its Hybrid Auto Selection (HAS) layer optimizes GPU allocation, encode batch size, and offload ratio using capacity profiling and Bayesian optimization, achieving up to 4.3× higher goodput compared to NVIDIA Dynamo and 1.7× higher than vLLM on various MLLM architectures.

VisionWeave introduces elastic visual representation weaving, a native capability for multimodal large language models that learns where and at what granularity to encode visual information. The method combines a gated spatial pooler for coarse representations with a granularity router that allocates content‑adaptive token usage, trained end‑to‑end on large‑scale data. Experiments on Qwen3.5‑4B and Qwen3.8‑27B show that VisionWeave can save 43.0% of tokens while preserving 98.9% of performance across eight benchmarks, and delivers significant throughput gains and latency reductions when deployed on the SGLang serving engine.

arXiv:2606. 06302v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Multi-turn LLM serving accumulates dialogue history whose Key-Value (KV) cache grows with every turn and every user, quickly exceeding the model weights themselves and making memory -- not compute -- the binding constraint on throughput.

DualPace is an LLM serving runtime that decouples scheduling between a GPU engine and an AMX‑enabled CPU engine, allowing the CPU to independently batch and advance decodes while still cooperating with the GPU for dense stages. This design expands key‑value cache capacity into host memory and reduces bursty CPU progress, leading to significant throughput gains—up to 43.2 % over NEO and 90.6 % over vLLM—without increasing latency. The system also maintains low time‑to‑first‑token and supports higher request rates at comparable tail latency.

The paper investigates how different parallelism strategies—tensor parallelism (TP), pipeline parallelism (PP), and hybrids—affect the trade‑off between time‑to‑first‑token (TTFT) and inter‑token latency (ITL) in large language model inference. It introduces a framework that maps feasible TTFT‑ITL regions and Pareto frontiers for various workloads, revealing a shift from TP‑dominant to PP‑dominant configurations as prefill work increases. The authors also present an SLO‑aware selection method based on goodput, showing that stricter TTFT goals favor PP, while relaxed constraints move toward TP, and they demonstrate that longer contexts further favor PP for scalability and SLO attainment.
