Not All Dimensions Are Equal: Outlier-Aware Attention Linearization with Grouped Quadratic Kernels

The paper introduces Outlier-Aware Attention Linearization (OAL), a method that improves linearized softmax attention by explicitly accounting for a few outlier dimensions that disproportionately affect query-key dot products. OAL builds on a second-order Taylor approximation, uses a Hadamard-product formulation to expose dimension-specific contributions, and groups dimensions with similar scales to share coefficients while treating outliers separately. Experiments on Qwen2.5-0.5B show an 8.9% reduction in frozen-attention output MSE, and fine-tuning with LoRA lowers WikiText-103 perplexity from 31.71 to 27.50 while boosting performance on PIQA, HellaSwag, and ARC-E.

GateTS: Versatile and Efficient Forecasting via Attention-Inspired routed Mixture-of-Experts

GateTS introduces a streamlined univariate forecasting model that merges sparse Mixture-of-Experts computation with an attention-inspired gating mechanism, eliminating the need for auxiliary load‑balancing losses. The architecture achieves superior predictive accuracy across both short‑ and long‑term horizons, including intermittent signals, while using far fewer parameters than leading transformer models such as PatchTST. Empirical tests on diverse datasets show GateTS is computationally more efficient than LSTM, enabling cost‑effective inference for real‑world time‑series applications.

Accurate and Efficient Multi-Channel Time Series Forecasting via Sparse Attention Mechanism

The paper introduces Li‑Net, a new architecture for multi‑channel time series forecasting that captures both linear and non‑linear dependencies among channels. Li‑Net compresses representations across sequence and channel dimensions, processes them with a configurable non‑linear module, and reconstructs forecasts while integrating a sparse Top‑K Softmax attention mechanism within a multi‑scale projection framework. Experiments on real‑world benchmarks show that Li‑Net matches state‑of‑the‑art accuracy while using less memory and achieving faster inference, with ablation studies confirming the contribution of each component.

PathFM: Fast Generative Forecasting of Multivariate Trajectories

PathFM is a trajectory-based forecasting model that uses flow matching to generate complete future paths for multivariate time series. It distills the sampling process to one or two steps, sharing a history attention cache across draws, allowing multiple path generation in roughly the time of a single quantile query. The model achieves competitive marginal accuracy on fev-bench and TIME, and outperforms baselines on the new Forecast Path Score Bench (fps‑bench) with energy, variogram, and downstream metrics, while maintaining long‑run variability in chaotic systems.

ROAR: Retrieval Opportunity-Aware Refinement for Zero-Shot Time Series Forecasting

ROAR is a Retrieval Opportunity-Aware Refinement framework designed for zero-shot time series forecasting. It enhances predictions by weighting queries according to base-forecast difficulty and the improvement potential of retrieved historical candidates, then learning a gate to control correction strength. The method jointly calibrates the forecasting module and gate, anchoring the final prediction to an initial refined output, and achieves the lowest average MSE across seven benchmarks compared to other methods.
